Commissioner’s Award for Excellence in Professional Learning
As part of the continuing effort to celebrate and honor excellence in professional learning in Missouri, LearningForward-MO is pleased to announce the 2017 Missouri Learning Forward Award for Excellence in Professional Learning. This goal of this award is to identify and honor high-quality staff learning programs that will serve as comprehensive models to districts and buildings throughout the state.
Promising Practice in Professional Learning
This award recognizes school districts that are making improvement toward full implementation of high quality professional learning that impacts teacher quality and student achievement.
Outstanding Instructional Leader
Recognizing that High Quality Professional Learning requires meeting the standards. LearningForward-MO will recognize instructional leaders who exceed in all of the Learning Forward standards. An instructional leader is defined as anyone (PD chair, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, director, or superintendent) who has shown leadership qualities in guiding colleagues toward high quality professional learning.
Outstanding Teacher Leader
Outstanding Teacher Leadership award is for an individual whose primary responsibility is working with students and who exemplifies High Quality Teaching, engages in High Quality Professional Learning, and who has made significant contributions to his/her school and district throughout his or her professional career. Any LF-MO member may nominate a person for the award.
Outstanding Learning Team
This award recognizes a PDC, grade level team, content/department, PLC or any district-wide or building level team focused on effective instructional practice to improve student learning.
